Hullerhill Quarry Crowned Quarry of the Year at BAA Conference 2025

We are thrilled to announce that Hullerhill has been named ‘Quarry of the Year’ at the 2025 British Aggregates Association (BAA) Conference, marking our third consecutive win following successes at Northfield and Tams Loup.

The BAA’s ‘Quarry of the Year’ award forms part of its respected Assessed Operating Standards (AOS) Scheme, which provides third-party accreditation for member quarries and evaluates how effectively sites are managed and operated.

Key factors in our win include, exemplary AOS performance confirming our compliance and our ability to combine high production standards with a zero-compromise approach to safety. Hullerhill Quarry’s recognition reflects its consistent commitment to these high standards, highlighting the team’s dedication to safe operations, strong leadership, and professional excellence.

Brian Woods, General Manager at Hullerhill, comments; “Our philosophy, led from the top down, ensures that every person on site has the training, tools, and support they need to work with confidence. This award shows that the culture we’ve built truly works, and it inspires us to keep raising the bar. Our team’s dedication, focus on safety, and their determination to constantly improve makes Hullerhill what it is. I’m honoured to see our efforts recognised at a national level.”

Hullerhill Quarry’s recognition as BAA ‘Quarry of the Year’ is more than an award, but a reflection of Tillicoultry Quarries’ core values of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement across our teams in Scotland, North East England and East Anglia. We are immensely proud of our team and remain committed to being a benchmark for safety and excellence in the quarrying industry.
