Enhanced Scraped Texture Finish

TQ Rend Enhanced Scraped Texture Finish is a British Board of Agrément (BBA) approved, high-performance, cement-based, polymer-modified, through-coloured render system designed to provide a durable, breathable, and visually consistent scraped finish. Engineered for both spray and hand application, it isapplied as a one-coat system in two passes, ensuring excellent adhesion, flexibility, and workability across a wide range of substrates. The advanced formulation offers superior weather resistance, long-term colour stability, and reduced risk of cracking. It’s through-coloured composition and refined texture deliver a uniform, high-quality finish available in a variety of colours – providing a robust, efficient, and visually refined render solution for modern construction demands.

APPLICATION Instructions

Before applying the render, ensure that all substrates are clean, sound, and free from any material that could reduce adhesion. For spray application, use an 8–12 mm diameter nozzle to apply the first coat directly onto the prepared wall surface, achieving a uniform thickness of 6–8 mm. The applied material should belevelled immediately using a straight edge, smoothing trowel, or float to obtain an even surface.

Allow the first coat to stiffen adequately before applying the second coat; the interval between coats will depend on ambient weather and site conditions. Apply the second coat to bring the overall thickness to approximately 18 mm. Once the render has partially set but is not fully hardened, scrape back the surface to a minimum finished thickness of 15 mm.

To achieve a textured finish, scraping should be done when the render resists a thumb impression but the aggregate can still be easily scraped from the render layer without sticking to the tool. Scrape the surface using tight circular motions, and once complete, lightly brush the area with a soft brush to remove any loose particles. It is important to scrape all sections at

the same stage of readiness, as scraping too early may result in darker shades, while scraping too late can produce lighter shades. Maintaining a consistent approach ensures a uniform appearance with the minimum finished thickness after scraping being 15 mm.
