Scottish Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration of apprenticeships. At Tillicoultry Quarries we are proud to have several Apprentices all focused on developing their career in our industry. This week we are sharing learnings and highlights from their journeys so far.
“My advice is to work hard, stay committed, and embrace the opportunities for progress and learning. To anyone contemplating an apprenticeship at TQ I would encourage you to seize the chance, as it is a really rewarding experience.” – Mark Forrest
“The training and support provided by TQ has been pivotal to my professional growth. The company’s dedication to my success has been evident, particularly in accommodating my educational pursuits alongside practical work. Learning to balance college commitments with on-the-job responsibilities has equipped me with essential time management and prioritisation skills, enhancing my overall proficiency.” – Greig Currie

“My enthusiasm for hands-on work and practical learning led me to pursue an apprenticeship at TQ. I was eager to apply my skills in a real-world setting and I found fulfilment in the prospect of contributing to industrial processes and projects.” – Ryan Flemming
“I’m proud to be part of TQ, a company that has delivered on its promises from the interview stage. I’ve been given the tools and opportunities to develop my skills, and my journeyman, Bruce, has been an excellent mentor.” – William McKenzie

“In the early stages of my apprenticeship, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone and familiarising myself with the site and workshop. The work is engaging, and I’m learning the reasoning behind each task. I’m eager to progress to using power tools, but I understand the importance of mastering the basics first.” – Zak Johnston
