Our EnvironMent

We manage our business operations responsibly, recycling materials to minimise our impact on the environment. From initial application for a site to the end of use of a quarry, Tillicoultry Quarries takes its responsibility to the environment and local communities very seriously. Our aim is to ensure our operations have minimal negative environmental impact during works, and we have an ongoing policy of reinstating spent areas back to agricultural land.

With operations across the uk, we’re proud to be part of the communities we work in – and we want to make a positive difference, not just through what we build, but how we do it. our purpose is to make a material difference to the lives of our colleagues, customers and communities, and our products play an essential part in creating a sustainable built environment for everyone. that means using resources wisely, cutting down on emissions, and always looking for smarter ways to work.” –  Wallace Menzies, Director.

Our Team

We aim to keep our colleagues safe and develop our people for a strong, diverse and inclusive workforce. We want to be a good neighbour to our communities with full compliancy at every step.

We ensure our Environmental Management System is given top priority and importance by all employees with line management being responsible for its implementation, monitoring, and effectiveness.

Our Sites

Our products play an essential part in creating a sustainable built environment for everyone. We use resources responsibly, reducing operational emissions and we always looking for greener processes.

  • Lowering our carbon footprint – We invest in regular fleet upgrades to improve fuel efficiency and use local hauliers and contractors to work in partnership with us to reduce emissions.
  • Restoring nature – When we finish work at a site, we restore the land with nature in mind—creating spaces that support local wildlife and benefit the community.
  • Product development – We develop products that contribute towards improved quality and sustainability in the built environment over their life cycle.
  • Making the most of materials –We minimise waste by re-using and recycling materials and responsibly managing water discharges.

Supporting Communities

We’re proud to be part of the communities we work in—and we want to make a positive difference, not just through what we build, but how we do it.

Whether it’s supporting schools, charities, or local events, we’re always looking for ways to give back and stay involved. Read more about our Community Engagement Programme.

Looking to the Future

We’re not standing still. We’re constantly exploring new ideas, materials, and innovations to help us build more sustainably—and we’re excited about what’s ahead.

  • Thinking long-term – We want to grow in a way that’s good for business, good for people, and good for the planet.
  • Working together – We know real change takes teamwork, so we collaborate with partners, suppliers, and communities to push for greener, better ways of doing things.
