Celebrating Career Achievements at TQ

As part of our commitment to accelerating action, we asked members of the TQ team to share a career achievement they are most proud of. Their stories highlight examples of success, support, and opportunity within our business.

Gemma Penman – Account Administrator

“My career achievement I am proud of is progressing from the Tulliallan Front Office to the Finance Department. I started at TQ at just 17 and was supported by my colleagues who trained me in different areas of the business. Moving into Finance, I took on more responsibilities, from processing invoices to handling monthly payment runs. I am proud of how far I have come and look forward to continuing to grow within TQ.”

Ellie Trim – Accounts Administrator

“The career achievement I am most proud of is starting my ACCA qualification. I began my role with little accounting experience, but through training and support, I gained confidence. After completing the AAT Foundation course with Distinction, I was encouraged to take on ACCA qualifications. It’s a tough but rewarding challenge, and I’m proud to be working towards becoming a fully qualified accountant.”

Kelsey Campbell – Credit Control

“Moving from Tulliallan Front Office to Credit Control was a big achievement for me. I learned so much in my time in the front office, including completing my SVQ in Weighbridge Operations and attending a three-day internal auditing course. Transitioning to Credit Control was a challenge, but the skills I gained early in my career helped make the move seamless. The support from my colleagues has been invaluable.”

Carol Hunter – HR Advisor

“Our TQ App project is my proudest career achievement. After 18 months of research, we found the right provider, and within two weeks, we launched the app successfully. When we received the first month’s stats, we had the highest uptake numbers our provider had ever seen. Knowing our employee support service was accessed three times in that first month made the entire effort worthwhile.”

Valerie Gorin

“I have only been with TQ for six weeks, but what I can say is that I have been made to feel very welcome. Coming from a company I had been with for 28 years, this was a big transition for me. I’m excited to see what the future holds at TQ.”

Dionne Bechelli

“Graduating with my HR Honours degree last summer has been my biggest achievement to date. In school, I was once told by a university representative that my grades weren’t good enough. Instead of accepting that, I worked hard, went to college, and secured a place at the University of Strathclyde. It was tough, but with determination and a great support network, I achieved my goal.”

Accelerating Action Together

International Women’s Day is a moment to reflect on progress and recognise the work still to be done. At TQ, we remain committed to taking meaningful action—ensuring that gender is never a limitation and that all individuals, regardless of background, have the support, encouragement, and opportunities they need to succeed.
