Northfield Quarry Wins Quarry of the Year Award

We are excited to announce that Tillicoultry Quarries’ Northfield Quarry has been awarded ‘Quarry of the Year’ at the recent British Aggregates Association (BAA) Conference in Harrogate. John McNab, Northfield’s Quarry Manager, was delighted to receive the award on behalf of the team. This significant achievement is a testament to the team’s dedication, hard work, and continuous pursuit of excellence.

The BAA’s ‘Quarry of the Year’ award is part of its Assessed Operating Standards Scheme, which provides third-party accreditation to member quarries. The scheme evaluates how well quarries are managed and operated, focusing on the overall competence of the team and their ability to meet health and safety regulations. While it is not a detailed safety audit, the assessment offers an independent expert view on operational safety and compliance with industry standards. The tri-annual assessment process encourages continuous improvement and promotes the spread of best practices across the industry. Northfield Quarry’s recognition reflects their consistent adherence to these high standards, highlighting the team’s commitment to excellence in safety, management, and operational effectiveness.

“This award is a reflection of the hard work and determination of the entire team at Northfield. We are incredibly proud of this recognition and will continue to push the boundaries of excellence in quarrying.” Wallace Menzies, Director at Tillicoultry Quarries.

This award further strengthens Tillicoultry Quarries’ reputation as an industry leader, underscoring our commitment to operational excellence. We congratulate the entire Northfield team for this well-deserved recognition!
