Tillicoultry Quarries sponsors Scottish skiing star Alex Tilley

Leading Scottish quarrying and construction materials company, Tillicoultry Quarries, sponsors Alpine Skier, Alex Tilley, as she builds towards the Winter Championships in Méribel in February 2023.

As a family business, Tillicoultry Quarries prides itself on giving back to local people, businesses, and communities. Tillicoultry Quarries is an active and supportive partner and has placed a focus on providing support to local causes through charitable donations and individual sponsorship and encouraging its employees to get involved to make a positive contribution to the community.

Alpine Skier, Alex Tilley, first started skiing at the age of eight after family friends recommended giving it a go at her local ski club. Since then, she has worked harder than ever to compete with the best in the world and has shown her capabilities on several occasions against the biggest names in the sport.

In 2013, Alex made her debut at the alpine World Cup at the age of 19. She went on to win 3 races at the North America Cup in 2014, before collecting her first World Cup points in 2015. Her best World Cup result was 13th place at the giant slalom in Sölden in 2021. Alex made her Winter Olympics debut in PyeongChang in 2018 and went on to compete in Beijing in 2022 where she placed 22nd in the giant slalom.

Tillicoultry Quarries was delighted to be able to offer Alex sponsorship to support her sporting ambitions for the 2022/2023 season.

Alex said,

“With Tillicoultry Quarries’ support I am able to ski a full World Cup programme this season and I am enormously grateful for that. I feel proud to have a Scottish family-based company on my helmet this season, and I hope to represent them the best I can and to the highest level.”

Wallace Menzies, Director at Tillicoultry Quarries, added,

“Alex is such a hardworking and professional athlete who very much aligns with our company values. Even after a serious ankle injury, she has battled back, undergoing two surgeries and intensive rehab to get back to her fittest to continue to compete at the highest level.

“Tillicoultry Quarries is proud to support her in her sporting journey this season and we will be cheering her on from afar every step of the way.”
